If you've fired a GHK G5 and liked the kick on that, the kick on this GBBR is comparable, even given the increased weight of the body due to a heavier steel bolt that is still snappy and responsive on Top Gas.

The Hop-Up on this replica is easily accessible as long as you have a removable bottom rail like the one it comes with. The dial adjust is accurate and stiff enough to hold its adjustment even given the immense recoil of the platform. In 1991 the Izhmash factory in the city of Izhevsk began full scale production of a modernized variant of the AK-74, the AK-74MN "modernized", folding stock assault rifle that offers more versatility compared to its predecessor. Apart from several minor production improvements, such as a lightened bolt and carrier assembly, the rifle features a new synthetic stock made from a black, glass-filled poly-amide that is shaped like the AK-74 fixed stock, but also side-folds like in the AKS-74. Additionally the AK-74MN uses an improved muzzle device and reinforced smooth dust cover. Each AK-74MN is fitted with a side-rail bracket for mounting optics.

If there was anything out there that is close to the real steel version, it would be this beauty. With its wood and steel construction, it gives it that weight and you can definitely feel it as you pull the trigger. The recoil is not light and would surprise you! Add a side mount rail and a scope on top of that and you'll own something that'll rate highly in the badassery scale! Here we have something special. Many airsoft companies have started to design their own airsoft rifles and pistols and GHK have followed the trend. They have come out with the G5 GBBR and let me tell you something. It is certainly very cool and bound to be a very popular airsoft gun especially for CQB.

It's not very long at only 629mm. The G5 is incredibly slim and compact and is made of a DuPont material which is a form of ABS plastic. Altogether it weighs just about 2 kilo grams which is just above 4 pounds. Without the magazine, it's only 3/4 the weight.

The magazine itself holds 30 rounds 6mm BBs and runs on Green Gas going through 2 full magazine rounds withstanding temperatures of -10 degrees Centigrade which is 14 Degrees Fahrenheit. Cold countries are going to love the G5!

It may resemble another firearm out there but it is of GHK's own design. it looks to bare some similarities to a M4 RIS with Quad Rails. It has a folding stock which you can replace with an adapter for a M4 stock tube, flip up rear and front iron sights and a charging handle that takes after the NP5 which is something we haven't seen for a very long time. The G5 has an M4 style pistol grip which you can change to any style for a GBBR.

Having seen the effectiveness of the German Stg-44 during WWII first hand, Mikhail Kalashnikov designed his own idea for a modern system based on the concept of a select fire fully automatic assault weapon chambered in an intermediate cartridge. Much less powerful then the battle rifles of previous decades, it made up for it with superior fire power with its higher rate of fire and a 30 round magazine that could be changed easily.

This newer model is nearly identical to the base variant, the only differences being this models replacement of the solid fixed stock with this right-side folding wire stock and the addition of the Soviet style mounting plate. With stock folded down, the 91cm / 36 inch rifle becomes a more compact 70cm / 27.5 inches.
